The Minoan Snake Goddess figurine is a beautiful handmade terra cotta reproduction of an ancient artifact that was found in the Minoan palace at Knossos in 1903. It depicts a powerful topless woman holding two snakes, with a little panther seated on her head. This sculpture represents the ancient Minoan worship of nature, the seasons, and fertility, and is considered a symbol of the main deity of Minoan Crete. The original statuette dates back to the 16th century BC and is currently on display at the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion in Crete.
