When my oncologist told me I needed a chemo port as part of cancer treatment, I was in shock. Port placement was the first procedure followed by many surgeries, and 4 months of hardcore chemo. I wasn’t sure I was going to survive the cancer. But if I did, I sure did not want an ugly horizontal scar to remind me of cancer forever.
