Description A drop dead gorgeous strapless gown in cascading layers of embroidered lace over silk taffeta. The color is extremely subtle - from a distance it appears as off white, but on closer inspection there is an icy minty green/pale blue undertone. Note the lace on this dress is exceptionally fine quality. What a statement this would make at the upcoming prom season – any girl wearing this creation would definitely be the belle of the ball ! It is also lovely enough to be worn as a wedding dress – definitely worthy of a very special occasion. Maker's label reads "Designed by Marie". I believe it originated from the upscale US design house of "Pandora by Marie", which specialized in high end wedding dresses using luxury fabrics, including silks, and imported French Alencon & Chantilly laces. The previous owner advised that the dress originally came with a tag reading "All silk" and it certainly feels like both the outer lace and inner satin are silk blends. Note the details on this stunning gown – the (boned) form fitting taffeta bodice with scalloped lace overlay and pleated tulle to accentuate the bustline, piped waistband, and of course the very full twirling skirt with cascading embroidered lace over silk satin. There are three layers to this skirt – a lining of the palest icy blue silk satin, a middle single layer of white tulle to give the skirt extra body, topped with an layer of icy blue floral lace. This dress closes down the rear with a metal zipper and fastener. The entire dress is lined in the palest blue silk satin. The dress is photographed using a crinoline to show the skirt to full advantage – the crinoline is not included. No vintage size label, so please see measurements below for a proper fit. This is an extra small size that would best fit a modern size 0 or 2. No stains and underarms are clean. It should be noted that there are numerous repairs to breaks in the lace overlay. These repairs were professionally done using transparent filament thread and are visible only on close inspection. They do not detract from the stunning appearance of this gown.
